Now I will be reviewing 2014's "The Purge: Anarchy", follow up to 2013's "The Purge: It's nice to see everyone following the rules". In this version people are once again happy to have an entire day to themselves in which they can carry baseball bats in public. And kill each other. This has an ensemble cast filled with stars. But none of them use their real names, so I will respect that.
So, should I see it, or Purge the thought of this from my existence?
I say See It. What the first one lacked in purging this one takes full advantage of. This guy with a cool car fights a bunch of other guys with a cool truck. One of them has glasses. But when the group of merry men and women get together, that's when the movie really takes off... into the sewers. Haha, gotcha. There's a scene in the sewers. Now they must fight against the evil elitists who hunt people for sport in an arena. Luckily a group of rebels is quickly introduced and then discarded just in time to save our people. From here they go into the third act, and this is where the movie really takes off. We learn car guy isn't just carrying a baseball bat for fun. I'm not sure if there will be a third one, but let's just say maybe there will be.
Spoilers preceeded.
