The Babadook

Now I will be reviewing 2014's "The Babadook".  This movie has been getting a lot of buzz for being good at being a movie.  The story centers around a little boy and his mother.  He keeps seeing this monster and is afraid.  His mother just thinks it's boys being boys and neglects him.  I think the boy said he read about him in a book.  I can't remember, but I know a book of some kind was important to the story.

So, Should I See It, or say "ByeBye Dook".

The buzz it's getting is just, so it's a "See It".  After a while of watching the kid get yelled at for making up stories, it gets tough for the viewer to watch.  You want to scream at the monitor that he's telling the truth.  Sometimes you even do.  But what helps with the somber tone is the comedy.  At one point the boy is hungry and asks his mom for food, but he made the mistake of waking her up from a nap.  She says, "Why don't you go eat shit!?".  This part made it my favorite comedy so far.  Anyway that book comes back into play and they have to read it or destroy it for some reason.  I can't really remember because I was still laughing at the "go eat shit" part.  The Babadook, more like the HahaDook.
